The place:

Each time, Cook me Drink takes place in different locations… an occasion to discover fun places in Paris… last Tuesday was l’Appartement de Fidélité, above the eponymous restaurant de la Fidélité. Once inside the actual place, you shimmy up a little staircase to the second level and find yourself in a real apartment.

A very pleasant decor, somewhere between vintage and design pieces, in a very relaxed sprit… it’s almost like being at a friend’s house! The place is not very large but super cozy.

You sit down in large sofas and sit around tables to chat… you can even lounge on the bed… next to pillows that seem almost alive!

The concept :

Tasting various cocktails, along with delicious little hors d’oeuvres… The idea: stand out from the other afterworks venues that tend to be more oriented towards drinks. Here, those how have a taste for gastronomy will be satisfied—the Blablablaandco gals often select new caterers with original creations.

This time Delikatessen Food Events served us surprising things: lollipops with goat cheese and fruit paste that were quite delicious, ratatouille cupcakes or then cupcakes with strawberries and LICIT—next to the classic salmon bagels…

When it comes to cocktails, Régis Célabe, bar manager at the Edouard 7 gives us a taste of his creations around a new alcohol – it came out just a few months ago! –LICIT. It’s an absinthe, with a slightly menthol taste.

Of all the creations by Régis , the one I preferred was the « 1988 Attitude », a cocktail inspired by the mojito, yet quite different: LICIT, fresh mint, rose syrup, mashed raspberry, green lemon cubes and Perrier…

Finally, after having been selected by the Blablablaandco gals,  there was a cocktails contest. Each one suggested a composition with LICIT, and the cocktail was prepared in front of our eyes. Helped by Régis, contenders measured, poured, shook and then served their preparations… and then we elected the best cocktail.

Finally how can one not talk about these two gals who started all these evenings: passionate about cocktails and gastronomy, they started with a blog « Blablablaandco » and organized these evenings to combine these two passions: cocktails and cupcakes. So it’s in addition to both their jobs that they put together these little evenings every three months and find the most amusing and friendly places, the most creative barmen and caterers…

Last  weekend, our winners of the cooking game-contest attended a cooking course with Rino. They learned marvelous recipes in a friendly ambiance, and rediscovered  rosé wine thanks to the Château Sainte Roseline…

Here is a little photo reportage of their day and even a video!

Next to Rino, students put together a complet lunch:

As appetizer: filet of red snapper, white coco beans and tomato paste with a Lampe de Méduse Rosé 2009 (for which you can find the recipe on Do It In Paris!) or barley risotto with mashed smoked eggplant and anchovies along with a Cuvée Prieure Rosé 2009.

As main course, they put together cod with tapenade, red cabbage and pointed onions with a Chapelle Sainte Roseline Rosé 2009.

As dessert, Rino offered a strawberry cheesecake, served with a Château des Demoiselles Rosé 2009.

Finally, we unveil the recipe or our winner!

Cheese millefeuilles

Ingredients ( for 2 persons ) :

- 2 slices of gingerbread

- 200g of Brousse ( kidgoat cheese )

- 1/2 ball of Mozzarella

- 1/2 pepper

- 1 onion

- 1/2 small eggplant

- 1 pinch of Espelette pepper

- salt, pepper

Mince the onion and stir fry in a pan with olive oil.

Wash and cut the pepper into small cubes. Add the pepper to the onion. Cook slowly.

Wash the eggplant and cut into slices. Pan fry in olive oil.

In a salad bowl, mix with a fork the cheese, the Espelette pepper and the pepper in cubes. Salt and pepper. Set to the side.

Cut a thick slice of gingerbread. Place on the oven grid covered with sulfurized paper.

Cut slices of Mozzarella and place on the gingerbread slices.

Place in preheated over (200°) for 10-15 minutes.

Assembling: a slice of gingerbread, the moss of Brousse cheese, the eggplant, the moss of Brousse cheese and again the gingerbread +Mozzarella.

This summer, I feel like something fresh and new to go to the beach.

At Princesse Tam Tam I found exactly what I wanted!  Little dress in blue terry cloth… Original and with a definite touch of fantasy, it’s the ideal alternative to the pareo (too many around!). It looks like not many people will be running around in this dress… in fact I have not seen many terry cloth articles in shops.

Who goes to an interview with a relaxed and allure classic allure… It’s Summer, she is not going to wear a stiff suit, so she revisits it her own way… She chooses an airy skirt, a light denim shirt to be at her ease, a blazer to respect the conventions and she finishes off the look with wedge sandals for a little height. In terms of colors, she wants to stay discrete –beige, navy blue and light blue…

Who parties all night long. She wants to have fun and be filled with fantasy, ready to dance through the night and party, she plays with the reflections of her buttons and her jewelry. A simple little dress will do the trick… she has lots of ideas when it comes to accessories: bracelets, necklaces or gold earrings, a pouch in natural leather with rhinestones, and strap sandals beige or brown… To make her outfit more preppy, and to avoid catching cold, she takes along a little jersey cardigan. Thus, the lovely Parisienne will have the perfect outfit to go to the Batofar at the Baron, stropping by in a few Saint Germain bars along the way.
